Signing up for getsugar

When you sign up for getsugar emails, you will receive email only from getsugar and we will not sell or share your individual data.

Signing up for other email lists through getsugar

At various times, getsugar allows subscribers to choose to sign up for email lists from other businesses. In order to sign up for the email lists of other businesses, you will have to opt-in specifically for that list by checking a box or otherwise explicitly choosing that list. You will never be signed up for any other businesses' list without explicitly making that choice. getsugar only works with businesses with strong reputations for privacy and who have demonstrated to getsugar responsible emailing practices including the ability to easily unsubscribe from their email lists. getsugar will make information about the other businesses' email lists available in the sign up process including the estimated volume of emails you will receive from that business. Only if you sign up for another businesses' email list through getsugar by checking a box or otherwise making an explicit choice for that list, then and only then, will getsugar give your email address to that business and you will then receive email directly from that business.

Double Opt-In

The getsugar sign up process through getsugar.com is a double opt-in process. That means we ask you twice to confirm that you want to receive future communications. The first step of the sign up process is completing the registration form. Then getsugar sends an email to the address you entered and asks you to click the link in that email as the second step to confirm your interest in receiving future communications. This protects you from being added to lists you don't want and provides greater privacy and security.

Unsubscribing

We have made the unsubscribe process as easy as possible. To unsubscribe from an email list, use the unsubscribe link in that email. We also unsubscribe email addresses that have bounced and indicated that the email address is no longer valid or receiving email. In addition, we will unsubscribe some email addresses that appear to be inactive or unresponsive. For questions or issues with unsubscribing, please email technical@getsugar.com and please include the email address that is subscribed to getsugar.

To make the site easier to use, we ask you if you want us to remember you and if you do, we cookie you. Cookie-ing allows us to identify you when you return so that you can sign up for new lists in one click.

We also use cookies to enable the e-commerce capabilities of getsugar. These allow us to retain information from one page to the next. For example, being able to retain the size and color of the item you are buying when we take you to the check out page.
